As of 1 November, Valérie Hoogers has joined our team as a PhD student. She will be working on a project that is funded by the Building Blocks of Life scheme of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific research (NWO). The project is a collaboration between the Pierik (this site) and ten Tusscher lab at Utrecht University and as suchcombines plant molecular biology and cellular mathematical modeling. It focuses on molecular signaling and response to light quality in plants.  Valérie will do the lab work, whereas the other PhD student in the project, Joana Teixeira, will do the modeling.
